Going Haywire at the Mitten

Last night’s special screening of my Halloween Redux episode of The Haywire Effect went better than I could have anticipated. Not only was the Best of the Mitten Movie Project 2011 review voted for in an overwhelming majority, but the episode also received votes as the best short (I expected to be screened out of competition, due to the nature of the poll).

There were hellacious bouts of laughter that seemed to stretch on forever and certain parts of the episode played better than I had any reason to expect them to. One gag in particular had the entire audience going for about 45 seconds straight to the point where the sound of the episode was drowned out by laughter. It was a phenomenally satisfying experience, and a perfect jumping off point for diving headfirst back into production on the show.

Expect the new episode to be posted tonight. Also, be ready for my review of Star Trek V, which should be ready within a month.
